Fish the Famous Wigwam & Elk Rivers
Imagine floating in a drift boat among the majestic Rocky Mountains and casting dry flies to trophy cutthroat or streamers for trophy bull trout. Early in 2005, Hookers partnered with a guiding company in Fernie B.C. We are now able to offer trophy fly fishing trips in this region. The company guides on the famous Elk and Wigwam Rivers as well as a multitude of other lesser known rivers in the area.
The Elk River is a beautiful freestone Rocky Mountain river that is floatable with drift boats. It is packed full of healthy, wild cutthroat that can reach 20". With high levels of insect activity, dry fly fishing is nothing short of spectacular. The Wigwam River is a walk and wade, catch and release, fly fish only river located deep in the Rockies along the Continental Divide. This is a beautiful river, with great habitat for large, healthy cutthroat and bull trout that can reach 15 pounds. Add a day or two of fly fishing in southeast B.C. to your southern Alberta fishing adventure. We guarantee you won't be disappointed.
